I made some cream puffs. This recipe is super easy, This is the first time I have done this and managed to get it right. They are so good and in preparation I read some articles about plating and decoration. From those articles I learned that I need to contrast colors to make the food look more presentable. In the picture you can see that the cream puff is yellowish white color and the dark chocolate, the colors contrast so well. I also learned that I need to have texture which I think I do, the cream puff is textured which you can see. I was so excited about this because I tried making cream puffs a long time ago and failed so it was fun to see my success this time around. The recipe is...
- Cream Puffs
1 cup water
½ cup margarine
1 cup flour
4 eggs
In a medium saucepan combine margarine, 1 cup water and ⅛ teaspoon salt. Bring to boiling. Add flour all at once, stirring vigorously. Cook and stir til mixture forms a ball that doesn’t separate. Remove from heat. Cool 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating with a wooden spoon after each addition till smooth.
Drop batter by heaping spoonfuls, 3 inches apart onto a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes then turn oven temperature to 350 and bake for 30 more minutes or till golden. Remove from oven. Cool on a wire rack. Split puffs and remove any soft dough from inside. Fill with pudding. Makes 10 small puffs.
